Course Description
The intent of the Skilled Trades 1201 program is to introduce students to the world of Skilled Trades. This includes information on the apprenticeship process, journeyperson status, Red Seal Certification, and basic knowledge and skill sets in the following trades:
- Carpentry
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Lathing
- Painting
- Masonry
The bulk of the coursework and assessment takes place in-class, with approximately 30% of the work being related to theory and 70% being related to hands-on tasks.
